1. Developing Self-Esteem and Assertiveness

This course is designed for individuals experiencing low levels of self-esteem who may not value themselves or their opinions. The course aims to support participants to increase their own levels of self esteem and assertiveness by encouraging thought and behaviour change.

2. Exploring Self Care and Compassion
The course is designed to explore self-acceptance, self-compassion and increased feelings of self-worth. The group will work with a fictional character names ‘Sam’ to enable participants to gently address their own thoughts and behaviours; it will not focus on personal experiences.

3. How to Budget your Finances
This short course is aimed at individuals who have difficulties managing their own finances. The course will look at the different ways individuals can tighten up their outgoings and tackle their debt. All participants will work towards developing a weekly/monthly budge which will take into account their entire financial situation.

4. Mindfulness
Mindfulness provides us with a way to cope with the stresses and strains of everyday living. It is not always possible to avoid stress, but we can learn to cope with its negative effect. This course will teach participants how to use mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing, visualisation and meditation which, when practised regularly, can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

5. The Role of your Brain in Mental Health
The human brain is an amazing organ. It controls memory and learning, the senses (hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch), and emotion. It also controls other parts of the body, including muscles, organs, and blood vessels. Scientific advances in recent years have made it clear that the brain plays a central role in mental health. This short course will explore the link between the brain and mental health to give participants a deeper understanding of why they feel the way they do.

6. Understanding your Anger – Level 1
This course is designed for participants who recognise that their anger is having a negative impact on their own lives, or those around them. It will provide an opportunity for participants to begin to understand their own feelings.

7. Understanding your Anger – Level 2
This course is for participants who have completed the Level 1 Understanding your Anger course and wish to explore the origin of their feelings of anger in more detail.

8. Your Road to Recovery
This course is designed to enable people with mild to moderate depression and anxiety to develop their life skills. Participants will learn to identify the link between their thoughts, feelings and behaviour as well as having the opportunity to learn and practice new strategies. The course aims to assist participants to make improvements in their life

9. Introduction to understanding communication and social interaction for adults with ASD.
This course is designed for adults with high functioning Asperger Syndrome. We will work in small groups of no more than 10 people. The aim of the course is to explore social communication, interaction and imagination in order to identify and reduce the barriers to social inclusion.

10. Stress Management & Wellbeing
Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure. Stress can affect how you feel, think and behave thus having a negative impact on your overall wellbeing.This course takes an indepth look at stress, exactly what it is, how it affects us and how to deal with it. The course will provide guidelines to help develop wellbeing and empower individuals to maintain balance in their life.
